When organizations transition to agile ways of working, confusion often arises, especially when it comes to role mapping. A common question is how project managers use Scrum. Scrum does not have a project manager role. This work is done by 3 roles within the Scrum team. product owner Product Planning (Scope) financial plan Stakeholder collaboration Track progress at higher levels development team Detailed planning Track progress with Sprints Quality Control Scrum Master follow the process clear obstacles Team promotion Prediction and Experience The two paradigms are fundamentally different in how they work, however, they share the same intent or business outcome. progress Because of the different methods, there are also different ways to measure and communicate progress. The purpose is to review the progress of the initial plan, an important aspect of which is the level of detail and granularity of the plan. The project manager is the role of cascading information. In Scrum, the entire team is responsible for all levels of tracking. The common factor is to make the visibility of progress highly visible, which is the purpose of using different report types. risk Risk is managed very differently. In Prince 2 there is a risk management strategy to identify and manage risk. In Scrum, risk is one of many factors that affects the order of the Product Backlog. The primary way to reduce risk is to address risk by delivering work product increments. Delivering work products will reduce business, technology and market risk by ensuring we deliver what our customers require early in the project life cycle. This reduces risk by building the feature as quickly as possible to get feedback to make any needed changes and by validating any assumptions made about the feature.
